Lisa Gerrard is just about to embark on her first ever solo tour of Australia. Her record comapny has just released a retrospective album in addition to the new one, The Silver Tree.
As a music scribe I have the pleasure of interviewing Lisa on Monday.
As real fans of her work and Dead Can Dance, I'd be interested in what YOU would want to know about Lisa and her music.
Look forward to your thoughts
PS. I promise to print the interview transcription here

Re: What would you want to know?
Fri, February 16, 2007 - 4:39 PMI've always wondered what the three great ethereal female vocalists (Lisa Gerrard, Liz Frazier, and Enya) think of each others music. It would be a fantastic concept to put the three of them together in a studio. What does Lisa think of the two others, and/or the wish of some fans to hear them create music together? (I know I'm not the only one) -

Re: What would you want to know?
Mon, February 19, 2007 - 3:06 PMIt's really easy to be jaded without giving something a real chance. I must assume you have never really listened to Enya if you can only refer to her as "Christmas album Enya". It took me a while to realize how great her music is. At first all I could think was that she was trying to sound like the Victorialand era Cocteau Twins. My starting point with her music was the song ALDEBERAN on her first album. Just listen to that song without prejudice and you will be won over. There are a lot of shortcommings with her work, I will admit, like the fact that her compositions are often so formulaic that much of it sounds the same. Her last two albums in particular are an example of this. The reissue of Amarantine with added "winter holiday" tracks must be what you are refering to as her "christmas album". I know many people who grew up listening to DCD and Cocteau Twins revile Enya mearly because she is radio friendly. Like I said, I was one of those people, but, like you said "to each their own". Anyway......best regards -

Re: What would you want to know?
Tue, February 20, 2007 - 11:20 AMDo not get me wrong, her first two albums are fantastic at points. Later her work is just, well not at all to my tastes lets just say that. Overproduced would be the word I would use. That and any artist that makes a christmass album has hit a low in my book. But who cares about my book. Love what you love and fuck the rest. -

Re: What would you want to know?
Thu, February 22, 2007 - 2:15 PMI love DCD, Cocteau Twins, and Enya and I don't see the problem there. As for Winter Season/Holiday Albums, Loreena McKennit has released both LP and EP albums with these themes. I think they are gorgeous and far from any "low." So I would agree, to each his or her own. -

Thu, February 22, 2007 - 3:04 PMI agree that xmas albums are usually hokey, but occasionally something inspired comes along like the one last year from Sufjan Stevens -

Re: What would you want to know?
Thu, August 23, 2007 - 11:21 PMI want to know if I can have a sample of Brendan Perry's DNA so I can create a 20ish year old version of him (yes, I realize this may take some time but it's worth it), and embark on a calculated breeding program.
I will keep the clone as a muse and slave. -

Re: What would you want to know?
Wed, September 5, 2007 - 9:59 PMJust make sure that you have plenty of booze stocked up for that young Brendan clone ;). He was a bit wild in his younger years.

Re: What would you want to know?
Thu, September 6, 2007 - 9:10 AMThat's okay - I could give him a run for his money
As far as drinking, I could hook him up to an alcohol IV if he so desires, just as long as he keeps jamming.
