Oh how I've missed his vocals. The background music I'm so-so on, maybe it'll grow on me, but I enjoyed the lyrics and his singing.

Yup, it's that voice. But the song is missing something ... and it's not just Lisa's voice. This is the first time I've heard Brendan since DCD, and I'm surprised by my reaction, but there it is.
His voice sounds warm and wonderful, as always. I agree that the arrangement lacks something, and sounds a bit canned. It does state that this is a *demo* version of the song. Perhaps the final version wilI be a bit more lush. I read recently that the album will have lots of guitars and drum machines. It's puzzling that someone so immersed in various styles of percussion, and with such talent and resources at his disposal, should default to drum machines when recording an album. Still, it will be interesting to hear his wisdom and experience in song form again after all this time.
